A solvable problem

There’s millions of solar panels fit for reuse, but instead they’re adding to our growing waste crisis.

At the same time thousands of marginalised communities face limited or no access to reliable energy, hindering their development and opportunities for growth

What if we told you there’s a way to solve these two issues simultaneously?

LUCA Power is transforming second-life solar panels into dynamic mini-grids; empowering communities and keeping solar panels out of the waste stream.

The mini-grids will deliver clean energy at a discounted charge to underserved communities. As we scale, up a portion of the revenue generated will be funnelled back into local projects, including;

  • improving schools and healthcare facilities,

  • empowering women and girls through scholarships and support for female-led businesses.

With every grid we are installing, we’ll ignite a wave of circularity, creating a brighter, more resilient future for all.

Powering sustainable development

With support from knowledgeable local community partners and our extensive established network, LUCA Power is deploying mini-grids of varying capacities to power schools, communities, hospitals, workplaces, and more.

This initiative will ensure local consumers can access and benefit from clean, reliable, and affordable renewable energy. Additionally it will;

  • provide local charities and NGOs with a sustainable income, enhancing their mission capabilities,

  • engage skilled veterans and volunteers to oversee the installation

  • prioritise training the local community by skilled personnel to maintain, manage, and secure the mini-grids effectively

  • significantly reduce community reliance on costly, unreliable and harmful fuels like diesel, firewood, and kerosene.

LUCA Power will offer grid management expertise and always consult, collaborate and prioritise that local people handle decisions about community benefit.
